Dandle Privacy Policy

Dandle is a browser-based word-building physics game. This policy explains what information may be stored or processed when you use dandle.online.

Local Game Data

Dandle stores game preferences and progress in your browser using localStorage. This can include unlocked levels, best scores, settings, and custom level data. This data stays on your device unless your browser or device syncs it separately.

Community Levels

If you submit a community level, its name, author name, and level data are sent to Dandle's server and can be shown to other players. The server stores play, like, and report counts. For likes, it stores a hash derived from a browser-generated token and your IP address to limit repeat votes.

Advertising

Dandle is free and supported by ads from Google AdSense, shown between levels (at most every few minutes). Google and its partners may use cookies or similar identifiers to show and measure ads, including ads based on your interests where the law allows it; in the EEA, UK and Switzerland you are asked for consent first. You can learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and manage ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com. The game plays with or without an ad blocker. Players who bought community levels access see no ads and don't load the ad scripts at all.

Community Levels Purchase

When purchases are enabled, Stripe hosts checkout and processes payment information. Dandle does not receive your full card details. Dandle stores your verified email, purchase reference, and payment status. If you choose Sign in with Google, Google shares only your verified email address with Dandle (no password, contacts or other account data). If you sign in with an email code, the code is sent through our email delivery provider. A secure sign-in cookie keeps this device signed in for up to six months. On another device, sign in with the same account to restore your purchase. Verification codes expire after ten minutes. Test-mode checkout does not charge real money.

Hosting and Bot Protection

Cloudflare hosts Dandle and provides Turnstile bot protection for community submissions. These services process requests, including network information such as your IP address. The game also downloads libraries from external content-delivery networks.

Analytics

An optional playtest mode (?playtest=1) records gameplay milestones, elapsed times, frame-rate samples, and a limited source label in memory on your device. It does not record your typed words or automatically upload the report. You can choose Export playtest report in Settings and decide whether to share that file. Closing the page discards the in-memory report.

External Links

Dandle may link to external websites such as documentation, social profiles, or platform pages. Those services have their own privacy policies and may collect information when you visit them.
